HOP: The Smart Way to Get What You Need in Your Hotel Room
While operating ASAP, we frequently delivered to hotels and noticed a shift: minibars were disappearing, and room service was becoming rare due to high costs, staffing issues, and theft. After deep research, we created HOP, a fully digital room service solution designed to offer guests instant access to essential and convenience products—without the need for hotel staff.
By simply scanning a QR code from their room, guests could access a curated selection of 50 to 100 products, tailored to their needs:
- Forgotten essentials – phone chargers, razors, toiletries, underwear
- Comfort & pleasure – snacks, drinks, candles, self-care items
- Entertainment – games, books, souvenirs
Key Highlights of Our Work:
- Instant, QR-based access – No app needed, direct web ordering
- Hyper-relevant product selection – Items curated for travelers' real needs
- Seamless logistics – Efficient local inventory & quick delivery
- Scalable model – Designed for city hotels, airport stays, and resort experiences
HOP launched in Paris, partnering with a small hotel group for initial tests. Despite a promising start, expansion was limited due to:
- Unfavorable timing – International travel was still recovering from COVID
- Need for larger investments – To validate the model across different hotel types
Though short-lived, HOP tackled a real hospitality gap, proving the demand for modern, digital-first guest experiences. The future of hotel convenience is still waiting to be redefined.
